Flight-Sheets.com
introduces the Electronic Daily Flying Record
module to the Flight-Sheets on-line flight booking system.
Designed to reflect and reinforce the information capture
and flight authorization processes currently used with traditional
paper-based daily flying record, the Electronic
Daily Flying Record system allows your flight
operation to realize benefits not available in traditional
paper-based systems:
- Improved Legibility of Records
The Electronic Daily Flying Record system does
not rely on handwritten entries. Information such as Captain
and Student names, the names of individuals authorizing
flights, flight exercises, and flight times are clearly
readable.
- Improved Information Capture
The Electronic Daily Flying Record system
provides error checking and prevents partially-completed
flight records.
- Improved Accurancy
Information such as air times, flight times, and daily
flight totals are calculated (not added up manually),
thereby eliminating arithmetic errors and reducing errors
arising from human error.
- Improved Policy Control and Management
The Electronic Daily Flying Record system prevents
flight authorizations by anyone but approved personnel.
All flight information is tracked and tagged with the
user ID of the individual making the entries, to allow
for transparent auditing.
- Improved Financial Tracking, Revenue Capture,
and Operational Auditability
The Electronic Daily Flying Record system allows
your flight operation to capture a number of fees (such
as fees for late cancellations of flight bookings) which
might otherwise be missed. Additionally, the System provides
traceability from the booking of an aircraft or instructor
through to the actual completion of the ground or flight
exercises.
Process - From Booking to Flight Completion
The Electronic Daily Flying Record
system works in concert with the Electronic
Flight and Instructor Booking System - in
order to have a flight appear on the Daily Flying Record,
it must first be booked in the Booking System.
When a new Electronic Daily Flying Record is opened for
a given day, the Record is automatically populated with
flight information for the booked flights, including: student
and instructor names, aircraft, and original time of the
booking.
Authorization and Tracking
The system is designed to avoid errors and to enhance auditability.
Information such as flight exercises and
course type (private, commercial, etc.)
must be entered before a flight can be activated, and all
flights have to be authorized (by an instructor or dispatcher)
and must be acknowledged by the student or renter - using
a unique user ID and password.
The system captures information such as watch times,
flight times, preparatory ground
instruction times, and simulator
times.
Regulatory Compliance
The Electronic Daily Flying Record system meets or exceeds
the requirements of the Canadian
Aviation Regulations (CARS) in the areas of Record
Keeping, Daily Flying Records,
and Technical Records.
